Earlier this week I got a phone call and on the other line was my 4 year old. He didn't say hello, he just said
I Pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God,
indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
He had just learned the Pledge and was very proud. I was also very proud of him.
The I read this story about some kids protesting saying the Pledge and it really disappoints me. I hope my child always remembers and understands what priciples this country was built on and what makes it so great.
