Oklahoma

We just got back from spending the weekend in Oklahoma at Shelley's mom's. I've probably mentioned before but Shelley comes from a big family and they had a get together this weekend.

There are a lot of reasons we go up there but here are two of them.

Family

They are a bunch of wonderful people and they have made me feel like a member from day one. They also will all do anything for each other. Now, don't get me wrong, they aren't perfect but they do care for one another and this goes through all the generations. When we are up there, hours can go by without us knowing where our children are but we do know that they are in good hands. We might not know whose hands have them at that moment but we know someone is looking out for them. Also, those hands might just be as young as 10 years old but they have all learned from a young age to look out for the little ones.

And, when we locked our keys in our car this morning, it was just minutes before an Uncle and the husband of a cousin were on site and within minutes had our door unlocked for us.

When you are there you can't help notice the warmth and love that runs through the house.

Food

Then there is the food. I won't go into much detail but it is really incredible. Last night my favorites were the fried okra and the home made ice cream. There were plenty of others but you just can't beat those two.
