Israel

Shelley and I have made the decision to go to Israel with our church. We are both very excited because this is something we have both wanted to do for a long time. In fact, it is one of my "7 Things to do before I die." We will leave December 28th and be gone for 10 days and the itinerary looks packed.

I will be blogging more about this as we prepare for the trip and then obviously after the trip.

I'll keep my true feelings about this trip to myself. I will tell you to keep your heads down. You mention the senseless death of the youngster on the roller coaster. I can't count the number of times I've heard of Americans getting caught up in international violence. I always ask myself if the trip was really worth the risk. The answer always comes back no.

I understand safety is a concern but I am going to rely on the judgment of the tour company who has done many of these tours. They are familar with the area, politics and current situation and they will and have in the past cancelled the trip if they determine it is too risky.

How exciting. This is something we too want to do. A friend of ours went last year, and brought back a video, it was awesome.
Safety is a concern for me as well, I've never been out of the country. I feel alot safer here in the US of A. I think I would just have to make sure my Last Will and Testament was updated, espeically where my kiddos are concerned.

Jeff - HOW exciting! I can't imagine what amazing experiences you will have! I hope your blackberry won't work there so you can get a real break from LLLC. ;)
