Texas Senate Approves Castle Doctrine

Monday, the Texas Senate passed legislation that would give Texans the right to use deadly force to protect their homes, cars and businesses.  The "Castle Doctrine" eliminates the "duty to retreat" and also removes the ability for the families of criminals to sue their victims if some successfully defends themselves.

Personally I think it is about time. I am tired of hearing how the victim is being sued for defending their home or loved ones. If the attacker/intruder is going to make an obvious attempt to steal and/or cause harm then Texans deserve the right to defend with any level of force, including deadly, deemed necesary. I am sorry, you break into MY home I will shoot you and make sure you are subdued or dead before I try to seek you medical attention. Why should I retreat from my home when you shouldn't be there. You should be retreating, not me.

I support the 2nd ammendment and most certainly this bill.
